Seth Robinson
COUNSELOR, LPC ASSOCIATE, LCDC
My approach to counseling is relationally oriented. Understanding ourselves, our problems, and our choices all benefit from this relational consideration, in my view. In session, you could expect to explore your relationship with your own thoughts, emotions, physical sensations, values, and other aspects of your self-identity. Additionally, time may be spent exploring other impactful relationships in your life - with family, friends, co-workers, and others. All of this will be done with the goal of processing and accepting the realities of your life and circumstances, both the painful and beautiful, and recognizing the areas where you have agency to continue moving towards what you care deeply about.
I work with adults and older teens, and offer therapy for anxiety, depression, mood disorders, substance use, and stress that may be related to life transitions, relationship difficulties, identity difficulties, as well as other concerns related to stressors in life.
I am licensed in the state of Texas as an LPC-A and LCDC. I have experience working in community mental health, where I have worked with adolescents and adults in the intensive outpatient setting in the clinic and in schools. This work has unfolded in both individual and group settings. Additionally, I have worked in the classroom as a teacher for three years. My academic background includes a Masters degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center and a Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy from Texas A&M University. Currently, I am pursuing my PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision at the University of Texas at San Antonio, where I am involved in the Counselors Against Sex Trafficking (CAST) Research Lab.
